Saif Released!

Saif won his freedom and now we expect that all the baseless charges will be dropped against him!  Truth and justice always prevail!

M. Saif ur Rehman Khan, the Pakistani citizen held in Chile after the authorities falsely accused him of having traces of residues of some explosive material on on him, has been set free by a court in Chile.  It started when he was detained inside the US embassy in Santiago, Chile and handed over to the Chilean police.

The so called “evidence” presented by the prosecutor side was baseless and based on presumptions. The judge has ordered Saif’s immediate release. We are glad that sanity prevailed.

He had been released briefly earlier before being detained again on May 22nd.

Saif has been re-united with his parents. Upon meeting their son, they could not control their emotions and burst into tears. Innocent Saif was always confident that justice will prevail and by the grace of God, truth has prevailed.

We have learnt from news sources that from the prosecutor side, attorney Francisco Jacir will present an appeal to the appellate court, asking to withdraw the measure ordered by the judge of the Fourth Court of Guarantee in Santiago. We expect that this whole drama be now closed and let Saif and his family live in peace. By doing such things, they are not helping Chile’s international image by going after an innocent young person.

At this point we would thank all those who stood by Saif and his family. We particularly would like to thank Senator Navarro and most especially honorable ambassador of Pakistan in Chile, Mr. Burhan ul Islam. There is no doubt that he is an ideal ambassador of Pakistan, a model for others who represent Pakistan abroad.
